- Product inspection requirements
Freight Returns
Many products sold by National Engine Depot ship via freight carriers due to their size and weight.
Products originally shipped by freight must be returned using an approved freight carrier and properly secured for transportation.
Customers are responsible for ensuring returned products are packaged appropriately to prevent transit damage.
Damage occurring during return transit may affect refund eligibility.
Restocking Fees
Approved returns may be subject to a restocking fee of up to 20% of the product purchase price.
The actual fee depends on:
- Product type
- Product condition
- Supplier return policies
- Inspection and repackaging requirements
No restocking fee will apply when:
- National Engine Depot shipped the wrong product.
- The product arrived damaged during transit.
- The product is confirmed defective upon delivery.
Refund Processing
Once a returned product is received and inspected, customers will be notified regarding approval or denial of the refund.
Approved refunds are generally processed within 5–10 business days following inspection and approval.
Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for purchase.
Original shipping charges are non-refundable unless the return resulted from an error on our part.
If a refund is denied following inspection, National Engine Depot will notify the customer of the reason for the denial and discuss available options regarding the returned product.
Core Returns
Certain engines, transmissions, and drivetrain products are sold with refundable core charges.
To qualify for a core refund:
- The core must be substantially complete.
- The core must be rebuildable.
- The core must be returned within the timeframe specified for that product.
Core return shipping costs are the responsibility of the customer unless otherwise stated.
